Anogeissus latifolia and Terminalia tomentosa are commonly lopped for leaf fodder in Shiwalik hill region of Haryana. During present study the leaf fodder and fuelwood yields of these two tree species were measured and yield tables were prepared on using suitable regression equations. Leaf fodder yield was more in T. tomentosa while fuel wood yield was more in A. latifolia.- Biomass Status of Mixed Dry Deciduous Forest of Shiwalik Hills in Haryana

Biomass structure of two sites (biotically disturbed BD and un-distubed UD) was studied during the present study. Total basal area was 7.9 m2/ha in BD site and 9.7m2/ha in UD site. Three important tree species Anogeissus latifolia, Acacia catechu and Terminalia tomentosa accounted 88% in BD area and 66% in UD area, of total tree density. Total above ground tree biomass was 22.05 t/has in BD area and 31.19 t/ha in UD area. Total above ground tree biomass of two sites differ significantly (P0.0l). In present study it is observed that the undisturbed condition bearing much higher biomass and tree diversity than that of the biotically disturbed.- Agroforestry Systems for Mussoorie Hills in Western Himalayas

The Himalayan region which was once ful of luxuriant forests with rich diversity of species is presently dwindling at fast rate due to large scale exploitation for fuelwood, fodder, timber and packing cases. The demand for these commodities may accomplished through agroforestry systems well blended with multipurpose forest tree species, horticultural tree species and crops or grasses. There is wide scope of silvi-pastural systems after closing the pastures from grazing. Results of a survey related to existing agroforestry systems along with various constraints and the adaptability of agroforestry systems have been discussed. Economic yield and productivity from agri-silvihorticultural systems was maximum as compared to other agroforestry systems.- Human Impact Assessment on Mangrove Forests of Andaman Islands

A comparative study of disturbed and undisturbed mangrove forests of Andaman has been done. It was noted that mangrove forests of Andaman Islands are one of the best mangrove forests of the world having high floristic richness, complexity index and biomass production. Rapid development and population inflow in the Islands has resulted in the clearance of certain areas of mangrove forests, due to which many species Bruguiera gymnorhiza, B.cylindrica, B.parviflora, B sexangula, Rhizophora lamarakii, R stylosa, Ceriops tagal, Lumnitzera racemosa, Sonneratia apetala and Nypafruticans have been affected. The values of biomass, litter-fall, litter decomposition, soil respiration were greater in undisturbed forests.- A New Record of Some Mangrove Species from Andaman Islands and their Distribution

The interspecific association between Iseilema anthephoroides and other 3 spp. of grasslands of Ujjain bave been determined by using Cochran's (1954) modification of Cole's(1949) formula. The degree of association was also determined by Cole's index. Positive association between Iseilema and Indigofera clearly indicates their same requirements and their interaction in such a way so as to favour mutual presence. Whereas negative association of Iseilema with Sporobolus and Paspalidium supports the idea of Anderson (1962) and Gause's (1932) i.e. presence of a number of microhabitats within a macrohabitat.- Cultivation of Egyptian Herbs-ammi Majus and Ammi Visnaga
